Get to know Kathy: Kathy Klein grew up in a small town north of Atlanta, GA. She attended the University of Georgia in Athens, graduating in 1980 with a marketing degree. “My first real estate experience was in a resort in North Georgia called Big Canoe. As chance would have it, my first job as a very young teenager was working as a dishwasher at this same resort that was designed and developed by Tom Cousin of Atlanta and Charles Fraser of Hilton Head Island,” said Kathy. “Interesting how my work experience never ventured far from the concept of resort living in controlled developments. As I look back I think it is and always has been my respect and love for the outdoors that drives me—the natural beauty whether mountains or sea—working with nature not against nature, the development concept for which Hilton Head Island is so well known.”Kathy moved to Hilton Head in 1990, fell in love with both the island and the man who would become her husband. Kathy and Mike married just off the 18th green of Harbour Town in 1995.Real estate philosophy: “I love the treasure hunt—helping my clients maneuver through all the wonderful opportunities that the Lowcountry has to offer and finding the ‘perfect’ fit for them—no matter how long it takes! All questions are good questions! I pride myself on providing full service. I am detail oriented and work closely with attorneys and inspectors. I love to talk, but have the technical ability to negotiate all the way through closing via Internet.” Her advice? “Find a Realtor that’s a fit for you and then enjoy the hunt for your very own piece of paradise we call Hilton Head Island!”Professional accomplishments: “Am I competitive by nature? Yes! As far as professional statistics, the only one I really care about is that the grade I receive from my clients at the end of their buying and/or selling experience is 100 percent satisfaction and happiness. But from a purely statistical perspective, I constantly rank among the top 5-10 percent of area Realtors.”Hobbies: Kathy and her husband, Mike, who is a small business owner, enjoy spending time together walking on the beach, vacationing with friends, Nascar races and sporting events such as football and basketball. Kathy also enjoys spending time with her family in Georgia. “I am someone who loves my family and totally enjoys working with my clients!”
