Get to know Jim: The terms "team spirit" and "winning team" hit home with Jim Thompson. As an executive for various sports marketing companies in New York City, Jim's clients have included the National Football League, Major League Baseball, National Basketball Association and National Hockey League. It was Dunes Marketing Group's team attitude that drew Jim to his very successful real estate career.And join the Dunes team, he did! In his first year with the company, Jim won Rookie of the Year in 1997. Jim also earned the "Realtor Distinguished Sales Award" in his first year with Dunes and is now a Life Member. Jim was named the DMG Shelter Cove Sales agent of the Year for six consecutive years. He and his wife, Susan, have been fulltime residents of Hilton Head Island for 12 years. "As a native South Carolinian, I've always loved Hilton Head," said Jim. "When the opportunity came to relocate to the island, I traded my office in NYC for the Lowcountry life. I hung up my pinstripe suits and button down shirts in favor of golf shirts and began my new career in real estate."Hobbies and interests: Jim's busy career and ever-growing clientele doesn't afford a lot of free time, but he slips away to the beach whenever he can with Susan and their beach buddy, Golden Retriever, Marley. "In the early days, I came to the island by ferry, and the beach has always been close to my heart.
